GOTICA SU LDA / Frequently asked questions

Clear information.
Confident decisions.

Answers to help you prepare the first contact and understand what has to be defined before, during and after the works.

01What services can I ask GOTICA SU LDA for?

Building construction, reinforced concrete structures, paving, drainage trenches, plumbing systems and fencing. Any additional work should be described in your request so that it can be assessed and included in the proposal.

02Where is the company based and where can it work?

The company is based in Pemba, at Av. 25 de Setembro, Bairro de Cimento. For work in other places, give the exact location: the possibility of mobilising and the logistics involved are assessed for each request.

03Can I ask for private work or a single service?

You can bring us a complete construction need or one specific job within our areas of activity. Acceptance depends on the size, the technical conditions, the location and our availability for the period you have in mind.

04Do I need to have a design before contacting the company?

You do not need to gather all the documentation to make a first contact. Send what you already have. Whether a design and specialist studies are needed will be clarified before the work is defined; design services are not assumed to be included.

05Is it possible to request a site visit?

You can request a visit to assess the site. Scheduling, availability, travel arrangements and any costs involved should be confirmed at the initial contact.

06What information should I send to receive a quote?

Tell us the service, the location, the approximate size, the schedule you want and how to reach you. Add photographs, drawings, measurements or a description of the work, if you have them.

07How much does a job or a square metre of construction cost?

The price depends on the design, the quantities, the materials, the finishes, the ground and the logistics. An initial estimate does not replace a detailed proposal with a defined scope and stated assumptions.

08Who supplies the materials and equipment?

That responsibility should be stated in the proposal. The contract can be assessed with materials supplied by the company or by the client, depending on the job. Brands, specifications and responsibilities should be agreed beforehand.

09How is the agreement formalised?

The proposal and the contract should identify the work, the materials, the quantities, the price, the exclusions, the deadlines and the responsibilities of each party. Clarify those points before mobilisation.

10How long does the work take and when can it start?

The schedule is set after reviewing the volume of work, the sequence of construction, access to the site, supplies and the availability of the team. The start date should be confirmed in the agreement.

11How are payments and invoicing defined?

The payment method, the measurement milestones, any deposit and the invoicing documents are set out in the proposal, according to the characteristics of each job.

12Can I change the design during construction?

A change can affect quantities, materials, cost and schedule. It should be described, assessed and formalised between the parties before it is carried out, so that responsibilities stay clear.

13How can I check the company's documentation?

Ask for the identification and licensing documents relevant to your contract, including tax records and the applicable construction licence. The class, the categories and the validity should be checked in the documents provided.

14How are safety and monitoring handled?

Safety requirements, access rules, the people responsible, progress records and checkpoints should be defined for the job, especially when the work takes place in facilities that are in use.

15Are there guarantees and support after handover?

Ask for the applicable conditions, the procedure for reporting issues and the support responsibilities to be stated in the agreement. Their duration and scope depend on the work and on the conditions set for the contract.

16Can I ask for references or information about previous work?

Yes, you can ask for further information about work relevant to your needs. Sharing client names, contacts, values or visits to facilities depends on availability and on the corresponding permissions.
